Finalmente ando a ver a nova temporada da série "True Blood"! Aquilo chega a roçar o ridículo, e quando vi o primeiro episódio pensei "Ah, desta vez não vou ver a temporada toda!". Não podia estar mais enganada...

I'm following the new season of "True Blood"! There is a lot of ridiculous scenes, and when I saw the first episode I thought "Ah, this time I would not follow the complete season!". I was so mistaken... 

Sales

Já agora, alguém partilha comigo o ódio à Zara relativamente aos saldos?? Que raio de saldos são estes? Então colocam coisas que já estão nas lojas há 30 anos, como nova coleção? E coisas em saldos que devem ter tirado do baú de 1450 e troca o passo? Alguém que me explique, porque sinto-me extremamente ignorante em relação a este novo método!

By the way, does anyone share with me the anger against Zara in relation with sales?? What are these sales? Things that are in stores since the beginning of the season and that they call "New collection"? And things that I never saw in stores? Is there someone who can explain me this new kind of sales, please, because I'm feeling very ignorant about this!

A promise

Tenho andado off, eu sei... Muito trabalho, pouco descanso... o habitual. Mas em breve volto a dar mais atenção a este cantinho!

Nowadays, I'm out of this blog, I know... Too much work, without rest... always the same. But I promise soon I will pay more attention to this little corner!

Super Bock Super Rock 2012

No sábado fui ao Super Bock Super Rock 2012, no Meco. Apesar de não estar muita gente, principalmente comparando com anos anteriores, valeu a pena ouvir Peter Gabriel e a New Blood Orchestra! Só achei que não era espéctaculo para aquele local e público. Enfim, merecia uma sala (fechada, talvez) como deve de ser, com um público silencioso e atento. Mas foi simplesmente, fantástico! Deixo em baixo dois videos que encontrei no Youtube, pois os que eu gravei com o meu telemóvel não ficaram grande coisa.

Também fiquei agradávelmente surpreendida pelo concerto do Aloe Blacc. Simpático, estiloso, encheu o palco!

On Saturday I went to the Super Bock Super Rock 2012, at Meco. Although it was not full of  people, especially compared to previous years, it was worth listening to Peter Gabriel and New Blood Orchestra! I just thought it was not the perfect place for a show like that. It deserved a room (closed, perhaps) as it should be, with a silent and attentive audience. But it was simply fantastic! You can see two videos that I found on Youtube, because my mobile phone videos are not very good.

I was also pleasantly surprised by Aloe Blacc show. Nice, stylish, he filled the stage!

Weekend movies!

Vi este filme no fim de semana e até gostei! Tem cenas que ficamos mesmo "sim, sim... acredito que isto seria assim na vida real...", mas no final, o saldo é positivo e até foi um tempo bem passado. Atenção: promove a trituração de unhas!

I saw this movie on the last weekend and I liked it! It has some situations that you don't believe that could happen in reality, but in the end, it was a good time. Be careful: this can lead to nails biting!

I saw this campaign and I thought it is fantastic! (it's in Portuguese, but it means "I know what you did last Summer!")

Pronto, lá ganhou a Espanha outra vez... Mas mereceram! Parabéns!

Achei muito fofinho aquele final, os jogadores a comemorarem a vitória com os seus familiares (com os filhos então foi incrível, tanto miúdo giro!).

Well, Spain is champion again... But they deserved it! Congratulations!

I think that the end was really sweet, the players with their families (especially their kids, so sweet!).

Sales in Zara

Quando começam os saldos na Zara? Alguém sabe?

When does the sales in Zara begin? Does anyone know? 

Again...

Não acredito... Lá perdemos outra vez! Foi um balde de água fria, merecíamos ganhar! Os espanhóis não jogaram melhor, tiveram apenas uma sorte do caneco! Falta sempre um bocadinho assim... (tipo Danoninho!). Hoje estou, tal como o país todo, deprimida...

I don't believe in it... We lost again! It was a deception, we deserved to win! The Spanish didn't play better, they only had a great luck! Today, like every Portuguese people, I'm a little bit depressed...

Where is education and civility?

Hoje ( e ainda o dia vai a meio...) vi dois casos explícitos de má formação, falta de educação e falta de civismo. Um foi no trânsito, claro! Acredito piamente que andar no meio do trânsito, principalmente quando está caótico, revela o verdadeiro ser das pessoas. Transformam-se, viram seres irracionais. O caso de hoje foi deveras assustador, pois o tipo levava uma cadeirinha de bebé no banco do pendura (daquelas em que o bebé fica de costas para o vidro da frente). Condução agressiva, a apitar para toda a gente que ele (master em condução) achava estar em transgressão, enfim, o cardápio quase completo.

O outro caso foi, ainda a caminho do local de trabalho, uma rapariga promotora de produtos para a pele, que lá estava a fazer o seu trabalho (pelo qual tenho muito respeito pois também eu já fiz parte destas andanças), mas mal! Sem um "bom dia!" lá arrancou quase como a querer bater-me, se podia fazer-me uma pergunta. Eu respondi que não tinha tempo neste momento e que pedia desculpa por isso. Ela não satisfeita e com umas trombas que chagavam ao chão pergunta: "Ah, quer ir picar o ponto não é?", como quem diz, já vais atrasada e para o teu chefe não te chatear tens de ir picar o ponto. Nem era o caso, pois hoje até cheguei mais cedo que o habitual, mas aquele tonzinho na voz irritou-me. Disse-lhe que sim e que tinha coisas para fazer e, mais uma vez, pedi desculpas. Ela nem ai, nem ui, apenas as trombas dela, coitada. Quando encontro um colega meu que me conta o episódio dele com ela, ainda fiquei mais passada. Ele tal como eu, disse que não tinha tempo, e pediu desculpa. Vai ela "Ah, mas se for para lhe oferecer aqui uma amostra grátis já tem tempo, não é?". Que é isto???? Onde está a educação? Onde ficou a simpatia? Coitada da empresa que lhe pagou para estar ali, pois com aquela miúda não vendem nem um produto!

Today (and it's only half of the day ...) I saw two explicit cases of lack of education and poor  civility. One was in traffic, of course! I firmly believe that riding in traffic, especially when it is chaotic, reveals the true being of people. People become irrational. The case today was quite scary, because the guy carried a baby on the front seat (those in which the baby faces away from the front window). Aggressive driving, he scream for everyone that he (master in driving) thought to be in transgression, well, the almost complete menu.

The other case was still on the way to work, a girl-promoting skin care products (for which I have much respect for, I too have done some of these works in the past)! Without a "good morning!" started there almost as if she wants to hit me, she asked me if she could do me a question. I replied that I did not have time right now and apologized for it. She was not satisfied with my answer and put a ugly face and tried another question: "Oh, you want to go report your  entrance, isn't it?", like she wants to say, already late and your boss will be upset with you. Neither was the case, because today I got up earlier than usual, but that strange sound in her voice annoyed me. I told her that yes and that I have things to do and, again, I apologized. She barely looked at me, only that ugly face of her, poor thing. When I meet a colleague of mine tells me that the episode with her was similar. He, as I, said he had no time, and apologized. She goes "Oh, but if I offer you a free sample  you would have time, isn't it?". What is this?? Where is the education? Where is the sympathy? Poor company that paid her to be there, because with that girl they don't even sell a single product!

Hot, hot, hot

Que calor que está hoje... E eu a ter de trabalhar dentro de portas! Pessoal como eu, toca lá a demonstrar a nossa infelicidade, porque pelos vistos no fim de semana desce outra vez a temperatura! Onde já se viu?!

It's really hot today... And I'm indoor, working! People like me, lets go express our unhappiness, because I read that in the next weekend the temperatures will drop again! What the hell?

Tallinn + Riga

Tallinn

Tallinn é uma cidade lindíssima, especialmente o centro antigo, e ainda pouco explorada pelo turismo (não vimos nem um Português!). Está tudo muito limpinho, não se vê um papel no chão!  Tem muita vida nas ruas e, como nesta altura do ano há muitas horas de dia (basicamente amanhace por volta das 4h e anoitece por volta das 23h), o povo aproveita!

Tallinn is such a beautiful city, especially the old town, and it's not a touristic city yet (we hadn't seen even one Portuguese!). It's all so clean, we didn't see one paper left in the street! And there's a lot of life in the streets and, as in this time of the year there's a lot of day hours (sun rises at 4 am and the sunset is about 11 pm), the people takes advantage in it!

Ir a Tallinn significa ir ao "Olde Hansa", um dos restaurantes mais famosos da cidade, onde é servida comida em estilo medieval e todo o ambiente procura traduzir a vida dessa época. Na foto abaixo, um pormenor da casa de banho.

If you go to Tallinn you must go to "Olde Hansa", one of the most famous restaurants of the city, where you can eat medieval food and all the environment tries to represent those times. In the photo below you can see a detail of the bathroom.

Riga

Cidade igualmente fascinante, mas mais turística. Já vimos grupos de turistas de máquina fotográfica ao pescoço. Mais uma vez, nem um português! Que se passa? Ainda não descobrimos estes países? Nós que estamos espalhados por cada cantinho do Mundo?

It's a fantastic city too, although much more touristic. You can see a lot of tourists groups with cameras around the neck. One more time, no Portuguese people! What's happen? We don't discover these countries yet? Portuguese people are all over the World, so?

Durante a viagem e fora do look formal da Conferência (ah pois é, para apresentar artigos não convém ir de ténis...), estes foram os meus amigos mais chegados!

Apanhámos, na maioria dos dias, um tempo espectacular, como podem ver, apesar de não estar um calor de morte. Mas houve um dia terrível! Eu felizmente estava indoor (na Conferência) mas o A. apanhou uma molha até aos ossos! E chegou ao pé de mim chocadíssimo por ter sido o único que andava com chapéu de chuva na rua e que parecia preocupado com a chuva. O pessoal de lá nem quer saber. É Verão, está a chover, que se lixe. Chinélos no pé, sandálias, saias, calções, t-shirts, tops, ... É o Verão nos países do Mar Báltico. Nós cá há mínima chuvita, ai que alguém nos ajude! Tomaram eles terem o tempo fantástico que nós temos cá, e na maior parte do ano.

During the trip and out of the formal outlook of the Conference (yes, for presenting papers, we must not use snickers...), these were my best friends!

In the majority of the days the weather was great. But one day it was terrible! I was, hopefully, in door (for the Conference) but A. was sadly soaked! And he was really amazed with the Estonian people: they were with sandals, skirts, t-shirts, shorts, without umbrella. That people don't mind if there is raining cats and dogs, it is Summer, fantastic!

I'm back!

Olá!!!

Após longa ausência, finalmente regressei! Estive uma semana fora de Portugal, em trabalho mais uma vez, mas digamos que também sobraram uns diazinhos para tirar umas férias. O que soube lindamente! 

O país de destino foi a Estónia (com uma curta escapadela à Letónia)! Fiquei maravilhada com aqueles países, dos quais pouco ou nada conhecia. Não sendo destinos turísticos de eleição (o que sem dúvida é uma pena), penso que para o povo até é melhor assim. Conseguem manter as suas características, sem terem (ainda!) muito oleada a máquina do marketing turístico. 

Mas pronto, nos próximos posts partilho um pouco do que vi, aprendi e vivi nesta semana.

Hello!!!

After a long absence, finally I'm back! I was one week out of Portugal, working again, but let's say also remained a few days to take a short holiday.

The country of Estonia was the target (with a short getaway into Latvia)! I was delighted with those countries, of whom I didn't know little or nothing. Not being famous tourist destinations (which undoubtedly is a pity), I think for the people is better this way. Able to maintain their characteristics without (yet!) very oiled machine of tourism marketing.

But in the next posts I will share a little of what I saw, learned and lived this week.
